Kirstin Cornnell, our Family and Community Support Director, participated in Justice 101: The History and Legacy of Women in Prison at Eastern State Penitentiary. The program explored the often-overlooked history of women in the American prison system, including how the incarceration of women has evolved and the powerful stories and legacy of women who fight for justice every day.

Attendees learned about key moments in the history of women's incarceration, considered the ongoing challenges faced by women in prisons, and reflected on the intersection of race, class, and gender in shaping the experiences of incarcerated women. The event highlighted the courage and resilience of women whose stories continue to inspire movements for justice and equality.
