Angela brings a wealth of experience with volunteer and program management in foster care and adoption. Angela’s dedication to working with organizations that value the dignity of every person, make her a great fit for our mission. “I am passionate about helping people and working against the unfair and unjust in the world. I strive to work for ‘people first’ organizations, where I can help people connect to the services that will enhance their lives.” Angela has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
“I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such an incredible team of Prison Society staff and volunteers,” Angela says. “It's a chance to advocate for people whose struggles often go unnoticed. I'm excited to work on behalf of incarcerated individuals and their families — it's work that truly moves me.”
As Prison Monitoring Manager, Angela will lead a team of nearly 50 volunteers across 25 counties, going into more than 30 correctional facilities from Erie to Bedford. Her responsibilities include overseeing prison monitoring in the western region, supporting local Prison Society volunteers and chapters, and cultivating strong working relationships with local prisons and jails.
"We are thrilled to bring Angela on board to help meet the growing demand for our services in Western Pennsylvania, where we continue to grow our staff presence on the ground,” says Claire Shubik-Richards, our executive director.
